The much-lauded chef, a San Diego native, channels the seasons; for example, fragrant effervescent strawberries infused with rum and Champagne, like a delightful, tickling burst of spring. (He is also partial to delicious dabbling with eggs.) And don’t be surprised if the affable chef stops by your table to ask about your meal.
Named for the resort architect Addison Mizner (he of Mediterranean Revival style fame), Addison sits high up on a bluff, its arched windows taking in twilight views. Dark woods, coffered ceilings and an imposing stone fireplace set the tone. At the restaurant’s center is a large, impressive wine cellar and the list’s comprehensive coverage — from tantalizingly obscure to exclusive vintages — matches, and compliments, Addison’s celebrated cuisine.
